Finding God can be a matter of just noticing what is already going on around you.
In some ways, God is like air: always surrounding us, sustaining our lives. But we usually don’t notice air, except when there’s a big breeze blowing. That doesn’t mean the air is not there all the time. It just means that it is invisible, and usually so subtle that we don’t detect it. It literally gives us life, but our attention is usually on other things.

Can you experience an earth-shattering communication with God, see the Heavens split open by a shaft of blinding Light, and hear the Voice of God thunder from the skies in the next few minutes?
Probably not.
Because God Almighty almost never works like that. God is usually subtle and low-key.

But what if you COULD experience within your spirit, in about two minutes, evidence that there IS a God?
Would you be interested?
What if you could really experience God in the next few minutes?
It’d be worth a try, wouldn’t it?

The following is a quick method to help you notice that there is a God, and that your spirit can be connected with Elohim, the God of the Scriptures. Maybe you’ve never felt a connection with God. Or maybe you used to, but you lost it somewhere through life’s trials. It doesn’t matter. This will work for you.

Read the first 5 steps in this list.
Then do them, in order.
Then do the last two steps.
All together, it will take you about two minutes. It might be two minutes that change your whole life for the better!

1. First, notice how you feel in your head, body and spirit right now, this moment.
   
   
2. If you’re sitting up, uncross your legs, and put both feet on the floor. Let your shoulders relax.
   
   
3. Take in one really deep breath…fill your lungs all the way full…then let it out. Then breathe normally.
   
   
4. With your head pointed straight forward, raise your eyes [not your head] toward the ceiling. With your eyes either open or closed, and your head still level, lift your gaze – raise your eyes so they are looking up at your eyebrows or toward the center of your forehead.
   Hold your eyes in that position for at least one full minute.
   
   
5. While your eyes are raised upward for that entire minute, talk to God. Just say a few simple sentences. You can either say these things out loud, or say them silently in your mind. Even if you’ve never talked to God before, you can do this. Say these phrases, and whatever else comes to mind. Be sure to keep your eyes [not your head] raised upward while you say them to God. Remember, do this for a total of at least one full minute. [You can glance at this list when you need to.]
   God, I need to know You’re real.
   Help me, God.
   There are some troubles in my life, and I need Your help.
   I really need to know You’re listening to me.
   God, I need to experience Your Spirit right now.
   I need to know it’s safe to believe in You.
   Sometimes I feel afraid and alone, and right now I need to know You’re out there.
   I really need You, Elohim.
   Please help me to feel Your presence in this moment.
   I need to feel connected with You.
   I need to know that You care about me.
   I want to have a relationship with You.
   Thank You, Elohim, for revealing Your Spirit to my spirit.
   
   
6. Bring your eyes back down, and notice that you feel different now than you did only one minute ago.
   In that brief minute, your spirit restored a connection with THE Spirit.
   Most people notice that their vision seems different or their breathing has changed. Most people can notice subtle changes in how their body feels. And that their awareness of their spirit has changed.
   Maybe only a little different. Or maybe a lot different.
   But there is a change. A shift. And that change came from Elohim – from the God of Creation.
   This change you notice, whether small or large, is evidence that there IS a God, and that your spirit is and can be connected with the Spirit of God.
   
   
7. Now, say this short prayer of thanks to God, or something similar to it.
   Thank you Elohim for showing me that You exist.
   Thank you for being interested in me, and for loving me.
   Thank you for sending angels to stay with me today.
   I want to reconnect with You, and be one of Your children. Show me the Way and I’ll follow it.
   Thank you for helping me to know You are real.
   Hold me, God, and take care of me. I want that.
   I say this, calling on the grace that is in the name of the Messiah, Amen.

Congratulations! You just talked to Elohim, and experienced the Spirit of God connecting with your spirit [maybe for the very first time]. Pretty cool, huh?

Do the Scriptures say this is a good way to connect with God? Absolutely! “Raise up your eyes and see the vision.” [Zechariah 5:5] “I lift up my eyes to You, Who are enthroned in Heaven.” [Psalm 123:1] So, you did something the Scriptures say to do. You lifted up your eyes and talked to God and experienced a shift in your spirit.
