You may wonder what the point of your life is. Is this life intentional, or is it accidental? Is there a point and purpose for your life? Why are you here?
It seems there are two most likely conclusions you might reach. One is that your birth was completely arbitrary, totally haphazard, and void of reason. The other is that there is an Intent that determined the particular time, place, and circumstances into which you entered life on earth. Either there is purpose to this life of yours, or there is not. There seems to be no middle ground.
Spiritual Purposefulness
Were it not for the higher spirit [neshamah] within you, you might possibly conclude that your life is without purpose, unsystematic, and possibly even accidental. If the only life force within you were no different than in a grain of wheat, an oak leaf, or a mushroom…if the spirit-breath within you were no greater than that which is in turtles, kittens, and bulls…you’d not be searching here for spiritual answers.
But you do have that spirit within you that is a glowing living spark that originated in the Source of All. And that Divine glint within you has warmed and brightened and is causing you to seek spiritual answers, and to explore possibilities. Here you are, reading a page about Life’s purpose. The higher neshamah spirit within you is seeking understanding, searching for meaning, and striving to reconnect with the Spirit of Elohim [God]
The Necessity of Mortality
Your spirit has entered this domain of existence to get experience that could not be gained in the spirit realm. Your spirit was with Elohim in the beginning, and after this human life, it will return to Elohim. The reason your spirit was sent from Celestial Realm into mortality is because there are some things that cannot be experienced and learned otherwise. This life is a time of schooling and testing, for the Children of God to prepare for Eternity.
The Scriptures speak of the Elect – the Chosen. They are those people who, during their mortal existence, have a spiritual calling and a holy connection with God. Obviously, everyone does not feel this mystical drawing to re-member God. Even more noticeable is that most people do not even have the opportunity while in this present worldly existence to be part of the Elect; they are in spiritual darkness and ignorance. In contrast, here you are: discovering, finding connections, learning, and becoming familiar with the Kingdom of Heaven. Your spirit was chosen before you were born – you were selected while still in the Spirit Realm to have a special purpose during your mortal life.
To Become Perfected
The Elect are here on Earth to learn and to have experiences within the parameters of the Commandments of Yahweh [God the Father]. The Elect are not here so that they may seek out countless hedonistic adventures, nor so they can make as many reckless choices as possible. The commandments and righteous examples of the Scriptures are the boundaries within which those who are the Children of Elohim should live their lives. You are to gain knowledge, wisdom and strength through the circumstances, challenges and tests of your mortal life – so that you may become more perfectly complete.
One of the objects of the mortal existence of the Elect is to imitate God. [Ephesians 5:2] The Elect are to intend to become like Elohim. The spiritual sons and daughters of God are to follow the Pattern that has been provided within the Scriptures, and in the example set by the Messiah, so that we may become like Him. [1st John 3:2] Just as earthly children imitate their flesh-and-blood parents, the children of God ought to emulate Elohim.
The Messiah instructed the Faithful to “be perfect, as your Father in Heaven is perfect.” [Matthew 5:48] The overarching object of temporal life is to become complete, and perfected. This mortal life is part of the process of completion and perfection for those who will be the eternal sons and daughters of Elohim, and who will inherit all things alongside the Firstborn. [Romans 8:17, Hebrews 1:2]
Your life is not random; it is purposeful.
